No More Subsidies to Stay Unemployed Petition

Dear Friend,

Although most Americans believe that workers who have been laid off through no fault of their own need help, Nancy Pelosi is fighting to continue paying workers more than they earned while working.

This is a scheme that the Congressional Budget Office said would mean that “roughly five of every six recipients would receive benefits that exceeded the weekly amounts they could expect to earn from work . . .”

But with your help, we can fight back against Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi's schemes to continue paying people more to stay unemployed than to work.

So please sign your No More Subsidies to Stay Unemployed Petition which the National League of Taxpayers has prepared for your Congressman and Senators.

And after you sign, please consider a generous contribution of $100, $75, $50, or $35 to help serve a mandate on my colleagues.

No More Subsidies to Stay Unemployed

Petition to the United States Congress, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, and the White House

Whereas:   Congress has already enacted an "emergency" bill costing $2,100,000,000,000 that pays five of every six recipients more to stay unemployed than to go back to work; and
Whereas:   Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden have proposed a bill extending this unemployment subsidy for another six months at an additional cost of $3,000,000,000,000; and
Whereas:   Even though job openings have been rapidly rising, employers haven't been able to find people willing to work, stifling economic recovery; and
Whereas:   House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly said she won’t budge from her $3 trillion unemployment subsidy while White House Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is open to "compromise;" and
Whereas:   Pelosi's spending scheme would kill 10 million new jobs and boost government spending to more than the total of the entire gross domestic product of the private sector for the first time in the history of the United States;
Therefore: I urge you to stop any proposal that would pay workers MORE in government benefits than what they earned while working.
Please submit the information below to sign the petition.
Copies will be sent to your senators.
